November 02, 2021

Do you constantly sneeze or have a stuffy nose?

If yes, it is fairly likely that you are experiencing hay fever or allergic rhinitis. Here's what you can do to alleviate the symptoms and feel better.

  1. Find out what the cause is and avoid it. Allergic rhinitis is generally caused by dust, spores, mold, pollen, or pet hair. Find out what causes it, and stay away from it if possible.
  2. Use filters on your vacuum cleaner and air conditioner to remove and filter out the particles from the air you breathe. This will surely make you feel better as most particles will be removed.
  3. Wear a cloth mask when you go out. The larger particles will be filtered, and this in turn will help you breathe more comfortably.
  4. Use anti-mite coverings on all your pillows and mattresses. In the long run, this will help as the number of dust particles being inhaled will be low, resulting in a lower number of attacks.
  5. Every time you head outdoors, have a bath and wash your clothes. It is likely that the particles will remain stuck to your clothes, causing further problems.
  6. Consult a doctor and ask them to prescribe you anti-allergy medications if needed. You don't have to suffer through the allergy. Contact an ENT specialist and ask them if you need to take an allergy shot.

By following a few simple tips, you can prevent and even beat allergic rhinitis.

It all lies in your hands!
