Treating your tonsillitis
December 04, 2021
Tonsillitis is commonly defined as the inflammation of the oval shaped pads behind the throat, the tonsils. This tissue acts as a filter to trap infectious germs and prevent diseases. The symptoms could range from a severe sore throat, fever, swollen glands and trouble in swallowing. Most often these symptoms are a result of a viral or bacterial infection that could not be trapped by the tonsils. When the symptoms become severe and the patient feels weak it is best to seek medical help.
The treatment primarily depends on what caused the illness - bacterial or viral. If diagnosed as a bacterial infection, you will be advised to take a course of antibiotics that lasts for 3-5 days. For viral tonsillitis antibiotics will not work and the best treatment is to treat the symptoms.
Some remedies to treat your tonsillitis
