Nasal Polyps

March 10, 2021

These polyps are noncancerous growths that hang down (like grapes) from the nasal passage. They are extremely sensitive and get inflamed easily, resulting in asthma, recurring infection and allergies. While some people seldom experience problems, others have respiratory trouble on a daily basis.

Manging polyps without treatment:

While they aren’t harmful, polyps can cause chronic discomfort on a daily basis. This can significantly hamper the quality of life and cause considerable pain and irritation. Lifestyle modifications such as staying away from allergens and pollutants such as dust can help in reducing the incidence of asthma and other issues caused by polyps. Wearing a mask to filter out pollutants can help in alleviating the problem. However, it may not always be possible to keep allergens at bay. Treatment should be sought to control and manage the inflammation.

Treating Nasal Polyps:

Medications can considerably reduce the inflammation of nasal polyps, which in turn reduces the problems associated with it. In some scenarios where the polyps cause breathing problems, the doctor may prescribe surgery to remove the polyps.

No person should suffer from excruciating discomfort from nasal polyps as they can be treated with ease!
